Just an hour and a half drive from Barcelona, in the beautiful Vall d’Ora valley, you’ll find a hidden gem: Forest Days. This incredible glamping spot, with just four tents, is a dream come true for any adventurer.
Surrounded by nothing but forest, it’s the perfect escape for those who want to immerse themselves in nature, slow down, and enjoy endless walks among the trees, breathtaking sunsets, and outdoor BBQs.
It’s one of the best places we’ve stayed in Catalonia and can’t wait to come back. We truly loved the attention to detail, the sense of privacy, and how friendly the staff were.

Everything you need to know about Forest Days
Forest Days is incredibly calm and relaxing, and since it’s not widely known among travelers, it feels like you’ve stumbled upon a hidden secret you might want to keep to yourself!
Montse and John, the owners, have done an amazing job of transforming this forest in the foothills of the Pyrenees into a paradise for nature lovers. With the great outdoors and adventure at its core, the place feels like something straight out of a storybook.
The experience feels raw and authentic: you cook your own food, sleep surrounded by nature, and listen to the sounds of the forest right from your tent. Yet, you won’t miss out on any comforts: the beds are super comfy, the honest bar offers fresh drinks whenever you need them, and the shower shed has electricity to keep all your devices charged.
The place is made up of four different camps, each with its own tent, private outdoor area, and eco-toilet. Then, you’ll also find the shower shed (with rain showers), the cooking area, the main shed (with refrigerators and the honesty bar) and a common outdoor area, perfect for chilling and enjoying a drink.
The tents
The four tents are scattered in the forest, and each is named after a famous explorer or adventurer: Huckleberry Finn, Jeanne Baret, Nellie Bly and Robinson Crusoe.
Each tent is decorated slightly differently, and the views also vary from camp to camp. Other differences between tents are the distance to the parking lot, the outdoor area (although all feature a dining table and a hammock), and the number of people that can stay in the tent. Some camps are adults-only, while others have the option of adding a satellite tent so children can sleep there.
The tents are spaced far apart with plenty of room around them, so you’ll have complete privacy and won’t see anyone else unless you want to!
In the tents, you’ll find everything you need to spend a great night, but also you won’t lose the sense of being on an adventure in the middle of nature.
Each tent has a really comfy double bed (the duvet was SO cosy!), a gas cooker, a kettle, coffee and tea, towels, a small wood burning stove (in winter), and an outdoor sitting area.
The tents are completely off-grid, so there is no electricity, but there’s a wood burning stove to keep you warm in the colder months and a couple of electric lights. We recommend you bring your phone charged. If you need to charge it there, you must do so in the shower shed.
There is also no running water in the tents. You’ll find a small wooden eco-toilet hut outside just for you, with a water jar and a dry toilet flushed with sawdust. The toilet is biodegradable, and once it’s composted, the waste gets reused as fertiliser. How cool is that?
The common areas
There are three common areas on the property: the main shed, the shower shed and the outdoor kitchen.
The main shed is the first place to head to once you get to Forest Days. There, you’ll meet with the staff, who will provide you with a welcome box, including a lantern, X the treehouse key and a walkie talkie to communicate with reception if needed. The adventure starts!
In the main shed, you’ll also find an honesty bar (with kombucha and local beers 🤤), refrigerators where you can store your food, and a small shop with lovely local products.
Just next to the parking lot, there’s also the shower shed. This consists of two rain showers, which are shared with other guests, flushing toilets, and a library corner with some nice books and info about the area.
You won’t need to bring a hair dryer, as you can find some in this shed.
If you want to charge any electrical device, this is also where you have to head!
The outdoor kitchen
This was one of our favourite parts of the glamping. The kitchen is incredibly beautiful, and the views from there are amazing!
Although the kitchen is off-grid, you’ll find everything you need there: a gas BBQ, gas hobs, a kettle, bins, and a washing area.
There’s only one thing that you won’t find in the kitchen: pans, pots, cutlery, etc. You are free to bring your own cooking equipment or rent it at the camp (which also includes salt, olive oil and ground coffee).
If you don’t want to bring your own food to cook, you can also buy BBQ packs at the camp. They have meat packs, which include various local organic meats, but also vegetarian ones.
Right in front of the kitchen, there are some large tables to enjoy a drink or eat while the sun goes down. And if it rains, you can use the two tents next to the kitchen to enjoy a cosy meal indoors.
Plan your trip to Forest Days
Best time to go
You can stay at Forest Days all year round.
The forest is at its greenest during spring, whereas you’ll enjoy views of snow-capped mountains in autumn and winter. Summers are pretty hot in the area, so we recommend booking only if you plan to spend a lot of time swimming in the river!
If your dates are flexible, we recommend booking midweek. Also, we highly recommend planning your stay and booking in advance, as it tends to fill up fast!
How to get to Forest Days
Forest Days is located in a forest near the village of Navès, in the north of Catalonia.
It’s an hour and a half drive from Barcelona and a little less than two hoursfrom Girona.
There are parking premises on the property, just a couple of metres from the main lodge, so parking the car is not a problem. Keep in mind, though, that you can’t get to the tent by car, the parking is 5 to 10 mins walking from the tents. So, don’t pack lots of things cause you’ll need to carry them to the tents!
What’s included in the price?
The price varies depending on the tent and the season, starting at 175€ per night.
In winter, the price includes all the wood you need to stay warm in the tent.
There are many add-ons to choose from, including a local breakfast, BBQ packs, activities in the camp (more about this below) or ready-to-eat meals.

Note that the price doesn’t include breakfast! You can ask for it at the time of booking or the day before at the camp.
What to do in Forest Days
Just chill
Do nothing! Relax under the trees, read a book in the hammock, nap or listen to the birds from your tent. The options are endless!
Time passes fast when you have time for yourself and don’t have any activities planned. Just enjoy; it’s a feeling we only get to experience sometimes!
If doing nothing for a couple of days is too much, keep reading! There are plenty of other options.
Cook incredible food
With a kitchen like the one at Forest Days, it’s impossible not to love cooking! Grab yourself a cool drink and cook a delicious dinner while watching the sunset.
We loved having time to prepare meals and cook BBQs without any rush while enjoying beautiful sunset views and the cool breeze. It felt so peaceful!

Take a walk around the forest
The tents are located in a magical pine and oak forest. Take a walk to explore it while enjoying the million sounds of the forest.
If you want to spice up your adventure, grab a torch or a headlamp and head to the forest during the night. It doesn’t get any more peaceful than that!
Go wild swimming in the Aiguadora River
Up for a refreshing bath?
Just 15 min walking from your tent, you can find the Aiguadora River, a small river with fresh and crystal clear waters. Grab a towel, your swimsuit, some cold drinks, and go for a dip.
Join a wildlife field trip
Want to become an explorer for a day?
Forest Days organises various activities in the campsite and the surroundings, like feeding the magnificent Griffon Vultures or walking around the forest with a guide looking for signs of the animals and learning about the trees and plants that grow there.
We didn’t try any of the activities during our stay, but we’ll definitely do it when we come back!

🎈 Discover the landscape from a hot air balloon
The perfect activity to enjoy a privileged view of the Pyrenees, Montserrat and central Catalonia. The flight takes place 30 min from the camp. We didn’t do it when we stayed at Forest Days but on another occasion (in spring), and the truth is it was a unique and very special experience!
30 mins from Forest Days, there is a little winery in a 15th-century Benedictine monastery! Their wines are great, and the place itself is worth a visit.
There are different visits, depending on the number of wines you want to try. For a complete experience, we highly recommend the wine-pairing visit. You’ll try different wines and various cheeses made in the monastery.
If you’re up for a beautiful hike, we recommend heading to the nearby Busa mountain range.
There are many different trails you can walk on, and we chose a 20-km one that was long but technically very easy.
The views of the cliffs during the hike were impressive. We summited the peak El Cogul (1526 m) and passed by a natural prison, known as Presó de Busa or Capolatell.
This rock formation was used as a prison during the French War to prevent the captured Napoleonic soldiers from escaping. They accessed this point via a wooden walkway which, once on the other side, was removed, leaving the soldiers completely isolated. Nowadays, you can cross from one side to the other via a metal bridge.

Our experience in Forest Days
We spent two nights in Forest Days to celebrate Marc’s birthday, and the truth is it couldn’t have been a better gift!
The adventure started as soon as we crossed the main gate and drove up to the camp. We had booked the Huckleberry Finn camp and didn’t know what to expect or if we would be bored fast as there wasn’t much to do around. How wrong were we!
We spent two days cooking outdoors, stargazing, swimming in the river, reading and hiking. It was such a great way to disconnect and slow down.
We didn’t look at the watch or set any alarm; we just followed the natural rhythms – eating when hungry and sleeping when it was dark – and it felt so good!

They were so good
The place was super peaceful; in fact, we didn’t see anyone during our stay there! We just saw the friendly woman who gave us the welcome packs and explained everything when we arrived. But during the rest of our stay, nothing. Absolute privacy.
As people who love nature and enjoy a good getaway, we can’t recommend this place enough, whether you’re looking to unwind or celebrating a special occasion. With its beautiful location, commitment to sustainability, and unique charm, we’re sure your time there will be absolutely memorable!
